A victim of the Great Recession, Florida family man, Rodney Hyden, hears a fantastical tale that he thinks just might be the answer to his ever-mounting debt. A Caribbean Island with buried treasure in the form of $2-million worth of cocaine and a verbal treasure map virtually pointing to the locale of the fortune. What
could it possibly hurt to try and find the loot and dig it up? While a cautionary tale of the trappings of the American dream and the story of good-intentions-gone-bad, the docu-narrative WHITE TIDE is also a heartening and fun as heck roller coaster ride of a film. The stylish, lager-than-life, action- heist-thriller-documentary will kick Sidewalk weekend off in the true spirit of fantastical Southern storytelling. Multi-year Sidewalk Film Festival alums, director Theo Love and producer Bryan Storkel, along with subject Rodney Hyden and Alabama native Jamie Hyden, are scheduled to join us for opening night.
